Your counsellor will discuss your needs assessment, get a clear understanding of what is important to you and your expectations of counselling, and agree on how we will work together moving forward.
This is also your time to decide if we are right for you. The assessment is normally about 20 minutes and is free.
Counselling is a journey of discovery led by your wants and needs at your own pace. Our therapies are led by fully trained counsellors who will listen to you and help you find ways to deal with emotional and psychological issues.
Each therapy package is uniquely designed for you, and the approaches are matched to your needs.
It is rare that a client feels instantly better after one session of counselling. Trauma, emotional or psychological, can be like a festering wound that has scabbed over. Just like an infected wound, it hurts and throbs until the infection is cleaned out. If left, the infection spreads.
To clean out a wound, you must pick off the scab and flush out the mess. Only then can the wound heal properly. That process, in itself, can be uncomfortable.
We believe that scars are beautiful and signify a battle won, a wound healed.
If you are looking to start or continue telephone or video counselling, the potential of a future lockdown will not affect your sessions or their delivery. If you receive face-to-face sessions, they can switch to telephone or video counselling sessions until the lockdown is lifted. No new face-to-face sessions will be held during lockdown. We are happy to continue face-to-face after the lockdown has been lifted.
A standard counselling 1 hour. The session is 50 minutes long, with the remaining 10 minutes for queries and further booking arrangements.
