People are the most valuable resource in any business; that is why Supervision and self-care are crucial.
Supervision is a vital tool to help build resilience, gain new insights, and process problems and crises as learning opportunities.
Mental health professionals take their caseload to a clinical supervisor to review their working practices and how they have addressed each client. By exploring methods and management of each client/patient, the supervisee can evaluate areas for growth, sustain good practice and ethical working, and plan for business expansions.
Most professional bodies require counsellors, psychotherapists and other professionals to attend supervision monthly to review their practice, grow their ability and critically evaluate ruptures in client-counsellor relationships.
The amount per month recommended depends on each professional body, and we would recommend you investigate how that applies to your working requirements. If you are a trainee counsellor, the requirements usually are 1.5 hours minimum per month.
Each supervisee is an individual, so each supervision package is created unique to you and your needs.
